Well, it's Wednesday!

It's been a busy week, but today I am getting caught up. I got my DT submission in to Mon Ame Memories just in time (today is the deadline)! I hate being that close to the deadline, but I was waiting for my new camera to arrive so that I could submit better images.

Speaking of the camera... I love it! It is a Kodak EasyShare... and it's orange! I love the fact that I can not get high quality pictures of my family and my scrapbook pages without 9 out of 10 pictures being blurry!

Speaking of pictures, here are a few taken in the last couple of days:

E today while we were waiting for M.

M posing for the camera last night! She was very patient with my "pose" commands while I was checking out the new camera!

One scrapbook item: check out the HUGE Giveaway at Scrap N' Art! The gals there are giving away a TON of stuff to one lucky subscriber. If you are not a subscriber, get over there and sign up- the e-zine is awesome. The giveaway can be found at http://www.scrapnart.com/.

Coming this weekend...

Don's brother Dan and his wife Beth are coming for the weekend. We are looking forward to seeing them. Don has plans to take the them adn the girls to the Potholes, a local attraction. The largest waterfall in Indiana is there too.

The kids and I are going to meet some friends at the park for a picnic today, then I need to work on my DT entry for a new site called MonAme Memories. I am excited about this opportunity! I would love to be on my first design team!

Not much else going on right now. We are canning grean beans and we have a bazillion tomatoes that will be ready soon. Gotta figure out what I'm doing with those (feel free to send me recipes and ideas!) Hope you all have a great weekend.

TGIF!

It's Friday! The kids are sick, Don is taking the day off to work on the house, and I get to go shopping BY MYSELF tonight. YEA! I am sorry the kids are sick, and I am glad Don is getting work done on the house, and I am REALLY excited to be getting out by myself. That hasn't happened in about 6 months, other then going to work or a meeting, which don't totally count.

Quick tip for all you SCRAPPERS out there- try adhering buttons with acrylic paint or puffy paint. You can use contrasting colors and it will seep out around the button and through the holes and create a very cool effect! It also holds the button really well. There's no moving the buttons once they are dry.

So, that's Friday. Hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

If you are reading this and you don't know what CHA is, well, all I gotta say is where have you been? just kidding... CHA is the semi annual convention of the Craft and Hobby Association. This is where all the scrapbook companies come to debut their new products. :) Now you've learned something new!

One more thing for today. This is a list of the challenges form the July 4th contest at www.scrapnart.com. I found this list to be inspiring, with many great ideas to get me started. The contest is over, of course, but I thought some of you might still find the suggestions inspiring. You can also check out all the challenge entries (each one used one of these ideas) at the Scrap N' Art website.

26 Create a page about why you are PROUD to be an American
27 Use wallet size photos.
28 Use coloring pencils on your page somewhere.
29 Create a lo using the number 4 in some way, but NOT a July 4th lo.
30 Journal on a photo.
31 Use painted chipboard on a layout
32 Switch your style...if you're a paper scrapper, make a digi page and vice versa

34 Make a layout with only circular elements on it
35 Make 3 cards to send to deployed troops in 30 minutes
36 Make a layout honoring a military person you know
37 Make a layout using a transparency as the base
38 Scrap a layout using an overlay or transparency as your background page....you must be able to "see through" your layout.

40 Scrap a layout with no picture, just a memory, a thought, a quote, etc.
41 Scrap something/someone you don't normally scrap....no hubby, no kids, no parents, no one you normally scrap.
42 Create a scrapbooking Sketch
43 Make a layout with only journaling
44 Decorate the front of a notebook to make a "sketchbook" for ideas
45 use plain cardboard on a layout

Thanks for stopping by!
Hi again! I've been keeping busy with MOPS stuff, cleaning, and of course summer fun!

Here's what the kids have been up to!

As you can see, lots of summer fun!

I've gotten a few scrappy things done too:

Nichole joins us tonight for her last 4 weeks of summer. She is headed to Illinois tomorrow to spend a few weeks with Aunt Judy and Grandpa and Grandma, and then she will spend two more weeks catching up with us. We have a few fun things planned for those weeks, and she has some friends eager to see her, too! As we "speak," Milena is literally jumping up and down asking when Cole will be here. :)
Don worked with VBS this week, and so he was gone every night. VBS went well, but we are looking forward to a quieter week coming up.
Thansk for reading!

I may be getting a little better at this...

Hey, everyone! It hasn't been 6 weeks since my last post this time! I am taking a few minutes for a quick update before heading off to fold laundry.

My dear friends Heather and Betty were here for the 4th weekend. We had a wonderufl time talking, watching movies, and scrapping our little hearts out. Saturday we went shopping for scrappy goodies and the scrapped some more! I picked up some Queen & Co. felt ribbon I've been wanting to try for a while and some new Prima paper flowers.

All weekend I was scrapping for the Scrap N' Art July 4th Weekend contest. I entered 26 LO's (whew!) and won 2nd place! The winner had 30... and she deserved it! I was exhausted. The most exciting news though, is that the Scrap N' Art team has requested one of my LO's for publication. YYYYYIIIIIIPPPPEEEEEE! This will be my first time being published. You can subscribe to the free online magazine if you head over to www.scrapnart.com.

I will hacve a few more LO's to show you soon, and another update on the family and maybe a few of the coolest scrapbook products about to be released!

See you soon!
