Live and Learn

My nephew is at the age where he feels he must touch everything.  I started this page by stamping with a Tattered Angels stamp and using Glimmer Glaze instead of ink.  Then I continued with the mist theme and a bit of an unusual color scheme to create this page.

The leaves are created with a Crafter’s Workshop template, the birk is from Pink Paislee, and the clocks are from Tim Holtz.

Thanks for taking a peek!

Sweet Treats are Sweeter…

Treats are always sweeter when shared with a friend!  These photos are of my daughter and her best friend (they’re both 6) eating ice cream this summer after a hot day at the park.  I used Hambly, some American Crafts, and a few other bits and pieces.  Love being able to use up all the little scraps lying around, and this is one of those pages.

It happened on a Sunday…

Once every summer, we go to an event my kids affectionately refer to as “Family Fun Day.”  Including bounce houses, carnival games, and lots of food, this event is a fundraiser for a local campground, where my kids may be campers in a few years.  This photo is of them riding the “train” and enjoying some delicious candy.  It’s the epitome of a fun Sunday family activity.

I used 2 Crafter’s Workshop templates on the background, layering one over the other and using 4 different mist colors.  I also dry-brushed white acrylic paint onto the background in a few places to soften the overall look.  Lots of different products on here, I was using what was lying around at the time. Smile

We’re Building A Garage…

And since that is one of the things keeping me busy, I am going to use it as my excuse for not updating more frequently.  But I am here now, and I have a layout to share using the new Times and Seasons Collection from Echo Park.  And, it’s about the garage construction… imagine that!

Ahhh… Coffee.

It was a Saturday morning, and the kids were begging to try some coffee.  So I let them (just once, mind you).  They both liked it… and Daddy was dismayed.  lol  Now they’re asking for it again, and I told them… maybe for Christmas.

I used up the last little bits of my Circa 1934 collection from Cosmo Cricket… it’s sad.  I will miss that collection, but I am glad I was able to put it to good use.

Thanks for coming over!

Christmas Tags

I decided to play around in Photoshop today.  I’ve been seeing gorgeous Christmas tags everywhere, and since I am trying to do my December Daily without spending any money this year, I decided to try my hand at making some for myself.  Here is the result:

I wanted to make them available to share in case anyone else is interested, so I uploaded them to sendspace, and you can get them for yourself in .pdf format.  If you use them, please come and post a link so I can see!

Happy When Reading

I recently interpreted a sketch from Pencil Lines using the October Afternoon 5 & Dime Collection, and photos of Baby K:

I created the background leaves with the same leaf template I have been using over and over again.  I first painted molding paste over the template, then painted the dried molding paste with acrylic paint in 2 shades of green to create the shaded look.

Anyone want to take a FREE Class?

Has Halloween left you covered in sweet wrappers, partially duct tapped to your child's abandoned costume with a bank account balance that's more trick than treat? If your feeling more hallow than happy let Miss Art's headmaster treat you to a fantastic, but time sensitive offer. For this weekend only, (November 4 - 6th) enjoy a tuition free class designed to renew your creativity, and go easy on your wallet.  You can even snack on the candy "taxes" you've stolen from the kiddos while taking the class.  Beginning on Friday, November 4th, you will have 3 days to check out one of our most popular classes for free, no subscription needed. In “Layered Layouts”, you will accompany our inspired resident architect, Julie Winks, as she explains the essential underpinnings of daringly designed layouts. We hope to see you in the class room and if you enjoy our class that you'll be kind enough to leave an apple or a comment for the teacher.

Hi there!  just a few more cards made with the July kit (Eleanor’s Garden) from Miss Art’s to share today.  You can get this kit FREE right now by buying Amelia’s Solo also and using coupon code FREE kit!

I made these quite a while ago, and am finally getting around to sharing.  I have 3 layouts on my counter that need to be photographed- maybe I can do a little better with those and show them to you before 2 months pass?  Smile
