A Layout? What?

I made a layout!  What?!?  I know, it's a real shocker lately anytime I find opportunity to create.  But I had to made time to create with my latest box from Your Scrapbook Stash!  I received the Upcycle collection from Cosmo Cricket, and I love the colors in this collection!  I used letters from October Afternoon with it.
The photos are of my children helping my clip coupons for a grocery shopping trip.  They love grocery shopping, so I am trying to teach them right from the beginning. :)

While I am here, I want to share this list of sneak peeks at upcoming classes for Miss Art's Papercrafting School.  I have a class of my own coming in October, but I can't tell you much about that yet.  So, you'll have to settle for these peeks for now:

- A review of mists from 9 different companies.  Learn how each brand works on white, black, acrylic, and more!
- Basics of using misting products on your projects
- Basic Sewing skills (think fabric gift bags!)
- Handmade clay embellishments
- A mini album class
- Making patterned paper from your photos
- Creating your own silhouette stickers from your childrens photos
- 3 Christmas classes (cards, gift albums, and more!)
- A Jewelry Class (and tips for using jewelry on layouts!)

Lots to look forward too!  I hope to meet you in a class of live chat soon.  Have a great weekend.

Almost Six, Going on 12...

Eeek... another week since I blogged.  Between finishing up this house, listing it for sale, and preparing to go to CHA for Miss Art's Papercrafting School, it's been so CRAZY around here!  Last week I created this sketch and it's interpretation for YSS:
I used Kaisercraft's Chapter One Collection, along with some Maya Road goodies and older Sassafras.

My First Attempt

My first attempt at a canvas tote bag or purse came a few months ago. Yes, I'm a little behind in sharing!  This tote is made by Prima, and was part of their new release in January.  Here's what I did with it:
I started by stamping the circles with gesso, then misting over them with "Meadow" Glimmer Mist.  I taped off the yellow areas to contain the mist.  Then I reversed the taping and misted the grey and yellow areas.  Then I outlined the circles with my PITT Pen from Faber-Castell.  A few more canvas embellishements and some lace finished it off.

Next time I do one, I'll do a few things differently, but overall I think it turned out pretty cute!  Prima canvas is so thick and wonderful to work with!  I think this may become a birthday gift for my daughter... she's been eyeing it for a while now, ever since modeling it for me for this photo!

Sneaky Mommy

A few days ago while we were playing a board game, I picked up my phone and started taking pictures of the kids.  I got a few in before they realized what I was doing.  Then they figured it out and started hamming it up for the camera, and I captured these shots:

Now I just need time to get these on a layout!
