The Tree & Me

It’s that time again!  The annual photo of the tree & the kids has been taken.  This tree joined out “family” when Elijah was only a few months old.  Now, they’re both 5.

Those little leaves and acorns are just the cutest, aren’t they?  Designed by Joe Rotella, they are now available from Want2Scrap.  Betcha can’t wait to get your hands on them!  (I couldn’t!).

You can see all the Want2Scrap™ products HERE.

Thanks for peeking!

Letter Learning

Welcome to Wednesday!  I hope that this is a day of creativity for me, and for you!  I’ve got another project to share today for Little Black Dress Kit Club.  This kit, “Always Dream” is lovely!  I’ve used it down to the scraps.  Speaking of scraps, this layout uses a lot of them as the backing behind the Jenni Bowlin lettering guide (also in the kit),  I used the lettering guide to trace and cut letters before using it in this way, so it I really made it do double duty.  Love that!

The photo is of my second grade daughter helping her Kindergarten brother with some phonics and letter writing.  Precious moments to remember when they’re fighting like cats and dogs later, right?

You can check out the kit and order yours HERE

PS- the Scrabble letters and washi are to die for, but the Dr. Seuss flashcards?  Amazing!

Watching the Welder

I’m finally back at the craft table after nearly a month of illness!  Yeah!  This project is one I created this week for Want2Scrap.  I used some Sakura goodies to, as well as a pile of paper from the old scrap pile.

I started by dusting the paper with Sakura’s Jewel Effect Pearl Powder in Citrine.  It left a "dusty look on the background, which is just what I wanted for this layout.  After all, welding and sanding are very dirty things!  I also dry rubbed a bit of the Pearl Powder on the Nestaboard behind the “75”, giving it just a hint of color.

I used the Nestaboard as a photo mat, but first I dotted it with #D Crystal Lacquer from Sakura, let it dry, then misted over it.  This technique added loads of texture to my layout!

Thanks for coming by!  You can check out Want2Scrap goodies HERE and Sakura Supplies HERE.

A Photo Shoot

This photo was taken 2 years ago, but I came across it recently and it made me nostalgic.  The newest Little Black Dress Kit “Always Dream” was the perfect complement.

I’ve been incorporating more tone-on-tone layering in my work lately, as I love the look.  This piece leftover from die cutting circles was the perfect way to add that to this project.  I love this layout!  Smile

Moments

A few days ago, I had a new post up on the Want2Scrap blog, featuring this layout I created using a photo I love.  While not technically perfect, this shot of my daughter looking at my Project Life album with her grandma and great aunt is precious to me.  I combined some fun, retro Nikki Sivils with Lovely Want2Scrap goodness to create this page.

Princess Quarters

I am soooooo sorry for the long silence!  My entire family has been hit with a virus, and we’re all coughing the days away.  This is now day 8 of the “plague,” and all I can do it hope it get’s better soon.  I’m working on projects when I can, and it’s nearly time for the reveal of the September kit for Little Black Dress.  So, I’m popping in to share another project from the August kit, “Lucky Penny”.  (You’re going to love the September kit, for realz… it has washi!  Shh…).

This sign is for a little girls bedroom door.  My daughter loves things like this, and I know other girls do as well.  There was some lovely Echo Park in this kit, which is featured here, along with some cute vellum from American Crafts.

And, while I’m at it, here’s the card I made for August as well.  Yes, that’s some Sassafras!  I was thrilled to see it, since it’s not in stores anymore.  Anything for some more Sass. Smile
