When you are 2, every step is a Big Step

This photo was taken 2-1/2 years ago, but it is so very typical of the personality my son has had since the day he was born.  He’s never been afraid to jump in with both feet and get wet in the process of trying something new.  As I type this, he is 4-1/2 and out in the driveway, trying to load pieces of plywood as big as he is into the trash can (which is taller then he is).   I love that adventurous spirit!

In the spirit of the photo, I created this layout using a combination of products that I never would have originally thought to put together, but I decided to be brave and pull out some products to mix and match.  The result is here:

I hope you are having an adventure of your own today!

It's That Time of Year

It's actually not the type of project I usually do, but I've had this idea floating around in my head for a while, and it was time to get it out.  I used a 12x12 canvas and Prima leaves to create this canvas (now hanging beside the back door):

Nothing to it, really, but sometimes simple is beautiful.  Thanks for taking a peek,

Precious Nap Times

For mothers of small children, nap times are precious.  They are highly cherished, and greatly appreciated.  These photos of my nephew "Baby K" reminded me of those days in my own household, not so long ago, when I had a few hours of mid-afternoon silence, and how much I cherished those times.

To create this layout, I started with a grid background paper from Prima, then added lots of bits from my scrap drawer.  We have a little Pink Paislee (from Old School), some additional Prima (from Reflections), a few bits of Crate Paper (from Random), and even some MAMBI.

Thanks for coming by, and happy nap time to all you moms out there!

My First Attempt

My first attempt at a canvas tote bag or purse came a few months ago. Yes, I'm a little behind in sharing!  This tote is made by Prima, and was part of their new release in January.  Here's what I did with it:
I started by stamping the circles with gesso, then misting over them with "Meadow" Glimmer Mist.  I taped off the yellow areas to contain the mist.  Then I reversed the taping and misted the grey and yellow areas.  Then I outlined the circles with my PITT Pen from Faber-Castell.  A few more canvas embellishements and some lace finished it off.

Next time I do one, I'll do a few things differently, but overall I think it turned out pretty cute!  Prima canvas is so thick and wonderful to work with!  I think this may become a birthday gift for my daughter... she's been eyeing it for a while now, ever since modeling it for me for this photo!

Thanks for coming by!
